Curriculum
We at Discovery Depot
believe that you are never too old or too young to learn
and grow. Children are such a joy to teach because they
absorb all you say and do. You can see the little light
come on in their bright eyes when they've conquered a new
concept. This is the reward of those who "teach". All of
our classes have a "teaching time" when we present the
curriculum to the children. However, we all know that it
doesn't end there, it only begins. Throughout the day
there are many "teachable" moments. During the "teaching"
time certain topics and ideas are introduced and
emphasized. There are crafts and activities to enhance
learning the concept. Then throughout the day the child
can practice what he/she has learned through their play. Monthly curriculum topics are posted in the Newsletters.
Be sure and ask your child each day what they did at school! At the
end of the week when the papers and crafts go home, take time to talk with
your child about their work and review what they studied during
the week. This is quality time spent with your child!
