Meet Us

Hi, I'm Kathy Drake, the owner and director of Discovery Depot. We opened our doors August 12, 1991. After having eight years of experience in the Day Care business, the Lord gave me a vision of offering quality child care and a strong learning program for young children in the Wolfforth Community. Since that day the Lord has truly overseen and blessed this facility and those who have come and gone. He has shown me that the children of today are the future of tomorrow. I believe that the first five years of a child's life is the most important training period. It is during this time that they get their foundation and learn the basics of life. My goal, is to unite with parents in helping them obtain this foundation in their children.

At Discovery Depot we look for teachers who have high morals, common sense, and a desire to guide children in the right direction. All of our teachers are trained in First Aid and Choking. Most have their CPR certifications as well. (There will always be someone in the facility who is trained in Infant and Child CPR). Our staff are required to continue growing and learning about children. They must obtain 15 clock hours of training each year. Their training must be in reference to the age of children they work with. Along with this training there are also staff meetings and in house training taking place. Learning is an ongoing process and one is never too old to learn!
